چکیده

—Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is an attractive modulation technique for transmitting large amounts of digital data over radio waves. One major disadvantage of OFDM is the high peak to average power ratio (PAPR) considered as the main implementation drawback of OFDM system. In this paper, we are discussing about PAPR, which affects the performance and efficiency of Power Amplifier and its influence of utilizing the selective mapping (SLM) technique and Active Constellation Extension (ACE) for PAPR reduction in OFDM systems. The Proposed SLM and ACE techniques for reducing the PAPR are the most promising reduction technique in its non-uniform phase factor for PAPR reduction in OFDM system. In addition, an approximate expression using the complementary cumulative distribution function (CCDF) of PAPR is discussed. The simulated results of comparative analysis demonstrate that OFDMA signals, which have used ACE technique, indeed provide a significant reduction of PAPR in OFDM system.

An Efficient Scheme for PAPR Reduction of OFDM based on Selected Mapping without Side Information

Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) has become a promising method for many wireless communication applications. However, one main drawback of OFDM systems is the high peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR). Selected mapping (SLM) is a well-known technique to decrease the problem of high PAPR in OFDM systems. In this method, transmitter is obliged to send some bits named side informati...

Selective Tone Reservation method for PAPR reduction in SFBC-OFDM systems

The high Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR) of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) and MIMO-OFDM systems reduces the system efficiency. In this paper, an extension of Tone Reservation (TR) method is introduced for PAPR reduction in Space Frequency Block Coded OFDM (SFBC-OFDM) systems. The proposed algorithm is based on a time domain kernel which is added to the signal of the anten...

A Low Complexity Forward Error Correction for PAPR reduction in OFDM Systems

In this paper, a Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR) reduction technique in Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) systems is proposed. This technique uses error correction capability of channel coding to reduce the PAPR.The coded bits at the input of OFDM modulator are separated into two groups of the Most Significant Bits (MSB) and the LeastSignificant Bits (LSB). The bits are mappe...

Peak-to-Average Power Ratio Performance Analysis for Orthogonal Chirp Division Multiplexing Multicarrier Systems Based on Discrete Fractional Cosine Transform

In doubly selective fading channels, the orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) multicarrier system may fail. Chirp like basis (fractional Fourier transformfractional cosine transform) may be used instead of complex exponential basis in this case to improve the system performance. However, in multicarrier transmission, the high peak to average power ratio (PAPR) of the transmitted si...

Trigonometric based time domain constellation shaping technique for peak-to-average power ratio reduction in OFDM systems

In this paper, a modified technique based on constellation shaping is proposed to reduce the peak-toaverage power ratio (PAPR) in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems. To accomplish significant reduction in PAPR, the energy compaction property of trigonometric transforms such as discrete cosine transform (DCT) is utilized in combination with the time domain constellation sh...
